One reason why I do not have Blu Ray:

1-I do not know what it is.

so:

Need more "very simple" info about Blu ray:
what is it &how it works?
quality / capacity / price of a disc & player /writer?
Does panasonic DVD player (5years old ) support blu ray ?

best wishes

Blu-Ray is an HD (high-definition) disc that holds 25Gb to 50Gb (5 to 10 times that of DVD)
Players are around $200.
PC player/burners $200.
B/R players will play regular DVDs with higher resolution. (up-convertion)

Blu-Ray will only play on its own player.

thanks for reply.
I know two reasons that will not use B/ray.
1- I don't hv the money too, for such device.
2- I doubt if I can find some devices here in my country.
prefer to use my DVD player.

Moh, also you would have to have an HD (flat panel) TV to take advantage of the Blu-Ray's definition!

There is where the cost lies!
