I was just reading the Excel spreadsheet which you have to download separately, on what is actually included in the Windows 7 service pack one RC.

I was really surprised to see how many "HOTFIXES" are included in this particular service pack and was sort of stunned at the number which according to my spreadsheet is over 500!!!

One of the really nice things about having a spreadsheet with all the hot fixes listed, is it allows me to scan the spreadsheet for hot fixes I might want and then apply them without having to apply the entire service pack.

I can tell you that I just installed service pack 1 on one of my Windows 7 x86 system which I have running in a virtual machine and it went on just fine. The total installation time was roughly 30 min. from start to finish however, my Windows 7 virtual machine is not fully loaded with applications and games. I use it normally just for testing and debugging so take the installation time with a grain of salt.
