Windows 8 Should Be Free

If Win 8 only includes the superficial features that are predicted, then it's a tweak of Win 7, not a new OS, and we shouldn't have to pay for it.

Windows 8 Reinvents the Windows Interface

In the first public unveiling of the upcoming Windows 8 interface, Microsoft's president of Windows, Steven Sinofsky, showed off a radically altered Windows start screen that features user-configurable tiles and looks almost nothing like Windows 7. The demo took place during this week's D9 conference in southern California.

Windows 8 Will Work With Existing PCs

Speaking at a press event at Computex in Taiwan yesterday, Microsoft's Michael Angiulo said, "Windows 8 will be able to run on a wide range of machines because it will have the same system requirements or lower" as Windows 7. Microsoft Windows President Steven Sinofsky reiterated the approach at the All Things D conference in California.
