what are the benefits of blue-ray over dvd? I never looked into it.

I can absolutely state that after seeing blu-ray movies on a flat screen LCD TV with home theater sound, I will NEVER go back to plain DVDs. The sound and crispness of the images are breath taking. I couldn't possibly overstate the improvement. It is the same kind of leap forward as VHS to DVD.

I'd check out a blu-ray demonstration at your favorite electronics store when you get a chance. It is jaw-dropping!
