AMD's New Quad-Core Chip Priced Below $100

Sounds decent. I have used AMD CPUs for a long time. Intel hardware is a bit more expensive and, AMD has never failed me. It does run a bit hotter, but any CPU fan / cooler that is halfway decent will fix that.

Windows 7 is supposed to run well on even older systems, so new hardware should be fine (given that the drivers are available).

Been researching an under $500 build using this CPU & recommended motherboard.
How does this sound?

I think that the hardware is good. I do like the video card, if you can afford the change. I am not a huge MSI motherboard fan, and usually go with ASUS. Looks like you've done your homework though! I always look at the customer reviews. They rarely lie!
