One of the main areas people seem to complain about the most is how fast an operating system works when it comes to moving files or moving around the Internet. Now this tweak is not necessarily related to how fast you can move around the Internet this tweak actually came about when I was downloading a new version of the software package Simple Static IP.
Shane, who runs the site, came across an issue where on his gigabit LAN he was moving files at about 8 MB speed however when he was playing music, the audio would only come down at around 1 to 2 MB. So, Shane set off to figure out what the actual problem was and came across some simple tweaks that just about anyone can do plus, it seems to have fixed his problem.
Now of course one of the tweaks deals with the registry so some of you may not want to do that one. The first tweaks Shane refers to is something just about everybody can do. Shane does state that after the first tweak was done he noticed a significant increase in speed. Some of you more advanced users you might want to take a look at what Shane had to change in his registry and also what command line commands he had to invoke. Shane does say once he rebooted he saw a significant increase in speed. How I know? Because I didn't of course and he was absolutely right! I truly saw a nice speed boost!
