Ok, so our iPads finally arrive yesterday. Except that they sent the 32s and not the 64s as our order had requested. Apparently they will be expediting our 64s because it was their error not ours. We don't have a ship date, but the rep is supposed to be calling today/tomorrow with that information.
Wasn't my choice to buy. I am just the person who has the purse strings. I will definitely let you know how they like them when we do finally get the new ones.
Ok, signed up and did the 3G thing. Haven't used it a ton because where I live there is no AT&T service.
We went to the local McDs and were on their WiFi to sign up. We could not use our address for a service address because there is no AT&T, but it did allow me to enter my work address as the service address.
The co-worker who went on vacation took one with her. She was able to answer email in the car. I haven't heard from her since Friday so I don't know if where she is there is no service or she just is not on email.
I did use it in the car on Saturday and it is nifty for that. I don't know though that I will use it enough to make it worth paying for the 3G piece.
Well, I will tell you I am liking this. Strange but true.
One problem I did have was working through some web based email areas. They did not want to just let you type in text. I realized that I needed to change to html or plain text and then it was all fine.
I think I will be working with it more once we have an intercept software at work. It will stop us from going to sites that are questionable. You then must ask permission to go there and tell them why you need to go there. I am not sure how that will work since we are an educational institution and people go everywhere for research and almost every dept has a FB account.
Having the iPad will allow me to do the research and movement without having to go through the permission process.
