Network Brand registration
Permalink

Hi
I have registered a domain  and own trademark for more than 3 years.
but now, a company in Hong Kong ( I guess ) wants to own my domain name as " Network Brand Registration" ,Because network Brand takes open registration which is international registration principle. and I have not registered the Network Brand yet.
the registration service provider announced me as follows :
quote:
Because network Brand takes open registration which is international registration principle.Hongda Kang Holdings has right to register it.As a registrar, we have no right to refuse their application. As the owner of trademark, you will get the priority to register this network Brand. If you think this network Brand is important to your company and want to protect and register it in advance,we can send a dispute application form and relevant registration procedures to you and help you register it within dispute period.
Of course, if you don't think their application will affect your company or your clients, you can give up the registration and we will directly complete their application. The time is limited and our technique department is dealing with this matter. Hope you can give me your decision ASAP so that we can proceed to the next step.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Best Regards,
Andy Chen

What I should do is to talk with my Domain service provider and ask them what to do.
One thing is clear to me : the Cost of Network Brand registration.
Anyway , I prefer to register it for my Company and do not let others use my Domain as their Network Brand !!
Although , I do not know exactly , what is Network Brand and what is the difference between Network Brand and a Registered Domain.

Need help and comments.

Based on your comment:

You should talk with your internet service provider and NOT the company wanting your domain name. I suspect that the company wanting your name will try to get it by confusing you. You have the right to the domain name as it is registered to you. Consult an expert in the field, and keep the name. There are many domain registering experts that can help you. You can try http://www.register.com or other sites to find out your rights regarding this matter. aww

Ist off, I don't know anything about having a domain...but if you don't live in Hong Kong (and I know you don't) then they are not your internet provider. They would be local company to your country or area.

Sounds like a phishing scam to me, Moh!
I'd be inclined to ignore it.

Hmmmm... hadn't really thought of that. I would (again) advise you to seek professional advice from YOUR ISP or a professional who as dealings in this area, before you agree to anything.

Like Barney ,for $ 150 / year , I do not believe a phishing scam, too.
will check the subject with my Domain Provider.
Although , I can not transfer the money to that HK company .
Meanwhile , my ISP provider and Domain provider are two different company.
Thanks for the comments.

Looks like Vin found the answer, Moh! Great work, Beetle! I wouldn't respond to the message anymore unless your legitimate ISP helps verify its authenticity.

this is the remain of the case :

I wrote to them :

there is no problem for dispute Application form , but due to Iran's Ban , I am not able to transfer the fee , $150 .
Please give me your office address , so that I will be able to ask one of my biz partner in Hong Kong to pay you cash.

Best regards.
M.Rafat Nejad

------------------

this is their reply to above request :

Dear M.Rafat,
Thank you for your replying. Please see my reply to your questions as below:

I understand your situation, maybe it is trouble to pay. But if you ask your partner directly to our office to cash payments,it will be also very trouble, because the operation process of our company is also more complicated. I suggest that you can use TT payment. All of our clients (including Middle East, Asia, Europe, the America) transfer through the TT payment, because it is convenient to everyone. Regarding the fee, you can deduct directly from the total amount. How do you think?
If you have no questions, please send back the form to me as soon as possible. After we receive your form, I will go to our finance department for Invocie.

Following is the registration procedure:

1. You fill in the form and return it via email (scanned) or fax.
2. We will stop their application and forward the form to our technique department to help your company finish the corresponding registration process.
3. We'll send the invoice of payment to you.
4. You transfer the payment to us according to the bank information on the invoice and email or fax the payment proof to us.
5. We will point the network brand to your official website after getting the payment.
6. After finishing your registration and pointing, these names will be protected in the world which you can use globally.

Waiting for your filled disputed application form!

-----------------
My Domain Provider announced me that I must not pay to anyone for my Domain.

Still Scam or True ?

Thanks.
