T-Mobile USA has done this before -- offering all of its phones for free under a limited-time promotion. But the timing of this one is particularly interesting, on the Friday and Saturday following the long-awaited Feb. 10 launch of the iPhone 4 on Verizon.

The Bellevue-based wireless provider today announced a special Valentine's promotion, scheduled for Feb. 11 and 12, in which all of its phones -- yes, all of its phones, including high-end smartphones running on T-Mo's self-proclaimed "4G" network -- will be available for free with a qualifying plan on a two-year contract.

A similar deal on Father's Day last year resulted in reports of a record-breaking sales day for the company.
