A year ago, Google's ground-breaking Web browser had just over 7 percent of worldwide use, while all versions of Microsoft's previously dominating Internet Explorer could claim over 60 percent. Now, a year later, Chrome's ascendance couldn't be clearer. Over just that 12-month period, Google's browser has almost doubled its share to over 13 percent while IE has dropped to below 54 precent, according to statistics from Net Applications.
