AT&T spent $4.9 million to lobby in second quarter

AT&T Inc. spent $4.9 million in the second quarter to lobby the federal government on its proposed $39 billion purchase of T-Mobile USA from Germany's Deutsche Telekom AG and other issues, according to a quarterly disclosure report.

Former China Mobile Official Sentenced in Bribery Case

SHANGHAI — A former executive at China Mobile, one of this country’s biggest state-owned telecommunications companies, was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve Friday for accepting bribes, according to Xinhua, the state-run news agency.

(Maybe we could learn from China?)
