Are you using MB pro? It's really a good deal because of the one time cost and not yearly! I have it on 4 PC's. And you can usually get a discount from NewEgg or the like!

And as I said, this is a good resource because many people take their PC in to someone on a regular basis and pay $50 or more to get them cleaned of malware.

I followed their specific procedure for a particular ransomware infection and it did remove it. There are so many...I can't remember what it was called?

This one could not be removed in safe-mode using both MalwareBytes and SuperAnti-Virus. They would find things on their initial scan...and then say there were "no threats". confuse

Hence, I searched for information on the specific infection and found MalwareTips! biggrin

MalwareBytes found 32 instances of Trojan.Dropper.MST on my computer yesterday and removed them.

I'm thinking I'll join MalwareTips and try some of their cleaning procedures.

All is well, Beetle! We have our parish camp out next weekend and we are the hosts...nobody wanted to do it...and you know how that goes! evileye

I went to the Re-Boot store a couple weeks ago and turned-in my old junk towers and got $35 of store credit. Picked-up a USB keyboard, VGA cable, and a USB PCI card (4+1 internal) and still have credit left.

Pretty nice place and their doing a good job recycling. wink

I hope you and Mrs. are doing well!

On taming Windows 8...try this and it will make it more to your liking. Classic Shell  I use it on Windows 7 for more customization. The wifer has Windows 8 and I have very little to do with it...unless it acts-up and then I tend to cuss! bleh

There is a recent development at Sourceforge (read comments) which doesn't affect my previous download of Classic Shell. If you want I can send it to you to avoid any installer program.

Almaretta & I are still 'kicking'!
I have gotten a new computer (for free) from eMachines to replace the defective Lakehouse computer which was included in a class-action lawsuit (Stroud v. eMachines, Inc.).
The new one, a Gateway DX4860-UR28, is very nice but I'm having to learn Windows 8 to get it set-up!
Having an activation problem with my 'Microsoft Office 10 Home & Student' which was supposed to install & activate on 3 computers but refuses to activate again after having been activated on the laptop only.
It looks like I'll have to buy Office again after the trial period ends.

Actually my Windows 8 is pretty well configured now so I'd hesitate to install any third-party configuration software.
