Did you try this?

"To enable or disable the touch pad, press <Fn> along with the < > key on the function key row on the keyboard."

Yes , I tried the Fn key along with the " touch pad " key , but no change and not activated .
I went to BIOS but saw nothing about Touch pad to disable / enable.

need help.

as you may know , typing is very difficult while the touch pad is active .

See if there's a clue in 'Device Manager'. 'Right-click' 'Computer' and select 'Manage'. In the right column select 'Device Manager'. Check 'Mice and other pointing devices' and 'Dell touchpad' or 'Alps touchpad'. Any yellow '!' (exclamation points) or problems. evileye

Does it say "This device is working properly"? If it does...you may be looking at "hardware" problems. bleh
