Looking for a Free program to convert .mov to other video extension
Permalink

Hi
My digital camera's saves file with mov extension which needs big file volume.
therefore , need a free program to convert mov to other video extension : to make the file smaller without losing the quality and easily can be sent thru email.
Meanwhile , I googled and find/install 2 programs but both not working properly(get not responding error message ) and also trial version with watermark on the page.
thanks in advance.
best wishes

Hi
2nd Link : it is www.radgametools.com and the related program is : RAD Video Tools . ( it is free)

installed , works : I think the problem is that , when converting , the new file has .bik and .smk extension .
these extensions can not be opened by any media player . it means other party ( receiver of the files ) has to download RAD Video Tools.
any comments ?

Sorry I cannot offer more assistance on this issue -- just do not have experience converting .mov files to other formats.
We have a video-capable digital camera but have not used it to make videos yet.
Hope Barney or Alan can help you!!

Alan

Thank you very much for the nice link you addressed.
Although it was hard for me to know how those converters work , but finally I could select and work with one of them named :XviD4SP which convert video files to other extension and decrease the size of file. That is what I was looking for.

Thanks God and my good Friends in TMF.

Best wishes
