Hi I wish to know if it is possible to send a fax while connected to ADSL internet. Usually , I receive emails with different technical specifications and my corespondent has no email address to forward it to him, therefore, I wish to send that spec. & text by Fax while connected to the internet. So far I do like this: disconnect, plug a phone cable to my laptop, and use XP Fax program to send it to the intended receiver. Is that the only WAY ? Thanks in advance. best wishes M.Rafat

Faxing Options for DSL or Cable Modems
You can't use your DSL or cable connection for faxing. A new technology, Voice over IP (VoIP) will undoubtedly make this possible in the future. VoIP is an inexpensive alternative to traditional telephone communication that operates over the public switched telephone network (PSTN). VoIP covers computer-to-computer, computer-to-telephone, and telephone-based communications. For more information about VoIP, read the Voice-over-IP Overview and the VoIP FAQ from DSL Reports.

Moh: Looks like you've found the only way unless you want to subscribe to a faxing service.
Hi I got good experience for sending Fax: While I am using Internet thru ADSL (8pin) cable(not USB port) , I plug in a direct phone cable to phone jack of my Laptop and sent faxes. It done. M.Rafat
