They have to try and make money off of us somehow!
The internet was free...but it's getting much, much worse.

I have no idea, but I use Firefox's Ad Blocker, so I do not get any of that. Sorry that you guys see it.... I know it is annoying! disbelief

Spyware Blaster's 'Flash Killer' got rid of it for me.

AdblockIE seems to do a decent job of eliminating this pop-up in IE8.

Hey Barn, I had "AdBlock Plus" and it didn't block the banner.
I had no luck finding "Ad Blocker"?!

Thanks,
Alan

Do you have the latest version of Adblock Plus?

I think that Ad Blocker Plus has replaced Ad Blocker: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Try to update your version. Also I suggest No-Script, but you'll need to give permission for scripts to be displayed on web pages (right click the page -> No Script -> Allow Permissions)

Works now...I didn't know you had to manually block each script and set-up a rule.

Thanks Guys

P.S. now I can't get rid of the active bar at the bottom!

Doesn't clicking on the down arrow at the right-hand end of the bar hide it?

Not anymore...I disabled adblock plus and scroll so I don't see it (if it is distracting).

2 things happen if I use the blocker: activebar doesn't function or go away; hovering over users doesn't reveal where they are reading.

pluses don't out-weigh minuses/disabled it
