Well, I think that one of this biggest hurdles that we have is that we are buried inside another board (Activeboard). If we had our own website (like the one I just opened up), we would probably get more visitors and hits. The actual registered members will always be small, I think.

For instance, I opened My Computer Playground on May 24th and I have only 9 registered members, many of whom came from here (thank you). I do, however have over 500 visitors a day. The largest website I work with (Neowin) has, on average, 250 members and usually somewhere on the average of 2000 - 3000 visitors at a time (within a 30 minute time span). They have almost 10 million posts to date!

Wouldn't get too excited about the Guests -- most of them are probably search engine 'spiders' and spybots looking for opportunities.

I understand that...just never saw that many. If it's here (with little opportunity) it must be rampant elsewhere.

Yeah -- we had a rash of Russian spam bots on another forum and had to take drastic measures to get rid of them.
On the "LoveMyBus' forum we've also had a couple of spammers but all I can do there is report them to Admin since I'm not high enough on the 'totem pole' to nuke them.
