As of last week, the white version of the iPhone 4 was still on track to ship at the end of this month. However, for the second time, the device has been delayed, with Apple issuing a brief statement this morning saying that it “[continues] to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected.”
Apple now offers only the vague “they will not be available until later this year” as a potential arrival date.
With a lack of clarity around the date, you probably want to avoid buying a black iPhone 4 in hopes of exchanging it later (if you’re super committed to getting white anyways). As Mashable’s Christina Warren noted the first time white iPhone 4 was delayed, customers only have 14 days to return the device, except in California, where they have 30 (though customers unsatisfied with the device can also return it for a full refund as a result of antennagate).
