Microsoft: RIP Windows Vista SP1

 For months we knew the end was near, but yesterday Microsoft officially ended support for Windows Vista service pack one (SP1).

Despite widespread discontent with Vista, SP1 brought both performance and compatibility improvements to the OS. Windows Vista SP1 was first made available through Windows Update in March 2008.

In a short post on the Microsoft blog, spokesman Brandon LeBlanc discussed the demise of Vista SP1.
