I don't know how it happened but the scanner & camera wizard icon does not show up in control panel, there is an empty space where it should be, is there an easy way to get it back there without reinstalling the OS, I am running XP home SP3, I just got a new cell phone and when I connect it to the computer with the USB cable nothing happens and I would like to transfer some pictures from the camera to the computer, the camera is a pantec 2030 and I downloaded the software for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
There was no software with it, they don't come with it, I went to the pantec site and downloaded it, I also tried connecting the phone before getting the software and it didn't work, I also tried reinstalling the software with no luck.
I still think it has something to do with the missing scanner & camera wizard in control panel.
that's why I want to know how to get it back there.
Moe, do you have a micro SD card in your phone? Sometimes you need to have the cell settings save to memory card...and then the USB will "see" it as another drive. (Been there )

Yes, there is a memory card in it, but it makes no difference, could we get back to my original question which was " Scanner & Camera wizard missing from control panel" which I am sure is the problem and would like to know how to get it back there, I know it's not the phone because I tried it on a friends computer and the the wizard came right up and I was able to view and transfer the pics.
So please tell me how I go about restoring the wizard to the control panel, hopefully without having to do a reinstall of XP.
